Daye Bensa: Growing Alongside Ethiopian Coffee

Coffee has always been at the center of Daye Bensa. Founded by brothers Asefa and Mulugeta Dukamo, the company began as a coffee producer in Ethiopia's Bensa district before gradually expanding into processing and export. What started with coffee grown close to home has evolved into a network that connects thousands of farming families with specialty coffee buyers around the world, while remaining rooted in the landscapes where the company first began.

As the company expanded, so did its investment in coffee preparation. Today, Daye Bensa operates dozens of washing stations, dry mills, quality laboratories, export facilities, and its own farms across southern Ethiopia. This growth has never been about increasing volume alone, but about strengthening every stage of production so coffees from Sidama, Bensa, Yirgacheffe, Guji, and other regions can express their individual identity while meeting the expectations of specialty coffee roasters.
