About Ken Bon,

Ken Bon Trading is a family-run Ethiopian coffee processor and exporter led by Aisha and Danya Bon, a mother-daughter team carrying forward their family’s long-standing connection to Ethiopian coffee. Their roots go back to Jimma, one of Ethiopia’s most storied coffee regions, where their family once operated local coffee processing sites surrounded by the area’s lush forests. Coffee has always been part of their story — something they’ve grown up with, known, and cared deeply about.

Over eight years ago, Aisha founded Keko Coffee, exporting both coffee and spices across international markets. As the business grew, her daughter Danya joined her, and together they created Ken Bon Trading — a second-generation company focused on quality, traceability, and community impact. Today, Ken Bon is recognized among Ethiopia’s leading coffee processors and exporters, working closely with smallholder producers across Guji, Yirgacheffe, Lekempti, and Jimma. Each lot is carefully hand-picked, naturally processed, and sun-dried to preserve the distinctive flavors and aromas that define Ethiopian coffee.

Beyond processing and export, Aisha and Danya are deeply committed to the people behind every harvest. They’ve helped build local schools and recently funded a clean-water well in Huraga, Guji, improving access and opportunities for coffee-growing families. For them, coffee isn’t just a business — it’s a way of life grounded in family, tradition, and purpose, celebrating the land and communities that make Ethiopian coffee so remarkable.

What makes their coffee so special?

The coffees processed and sourced by Ken Bon stand out for their exceptional quality, traceability, and care at every stage. Aisha and Danya work hand in hand with producers across Guji, Yirgacheffe, Lekempti, and Jimma — regions celebrated for their fertile soils, high elevations, and ideal microclimates for growing world-class Ethiopian coffee. Each cherry is handpicked at peak ripeness, naturally sun-dried, and meticulously sorted, resulting in consistently clean, vibrant, and well-balanced cups.

Danya Bon, who now leads much of the company’s sourcing and logistics, is deeply involved in every detail. She works directly with farmers, cuppers, and processing partners, ensuring that each lot meets their exacting standards for quality and sustainability. Her dedication, paired with Aisha’s years of experience, has shaped a sourcing model built on transparency, fairness, and long-term relationships with the communities they serve.

For Aisha and Danya, great coffee begins with great people — and that belief shines through in every bag of green coffee they produce and export.
