About ACC Por La Paz
This is a collective of small-scale coffee producers based in Piendamó, Cauca, Colombia. Founded in 2016 during Colombia’s National Strike, the association emerged as a community-driven initiative led by farmers seeking to improve conditions, gain representation, and defend the rights of rural communities peacefully. Since its creation, ACC Por la Paz has been guided by the values of unity, dignity, and collective organization. The association has established a shared identity founded on cooperation and territorial belonging.
ACC Por la Paz focuses on strengthening coffee farming as a viable, sustainable livelihood for its members. The association supports its members by providing training in good agricultural practices and technical assistance to improve productivity and coffee quality. By helping farmers navigate production challenges and access markets that value Cauca’s coffee, ACC Por la Paz contributes to more stable incomes and long-term economic resilience for coffee-growing families.
Beyond its productive role, ACC Por la Paz is committed to social cohesion and peacebuilding within its territory. The association promotes direct trade and fairer prices for its producers, viewing commercialization as a means of reducing vulnerability and creating opportunities for growth. Through dialogue, collaboration, and community integration, ACC Por la Paz strengthens the social fabric of coffee-growing communities. The association views coffee as more than just a crop: it is a way of life, rooted in dignity and hope for future generations.
