La Rosalia & La Isabella
Costa Rica
A rich coffee heritage under the dedicated stewardship of the Castro family since 1888.
About La Isabella and La Rosalia
In the mountains of Tres Rios, Costa Rica, the story of La Isabella Estate began. Back in 1888, a young man named Teodosio Castro Angarita from Colombia bought his first coffee estate. This was the start of a long coffee journey for the Castro family.
Years passed, and in the early 1980s, the estate was handed over to Mr. Claudio Castro, a family member from the third generation. With Mr. Claudio's careful leadership, La Isabella Estate grew and became known as a top coffee producer.
But the Castro family's coffee story isn't just about La Isabella. They also own Finca La Rosalia, another famous estate in Tres Rios, Costa Rica. La Rosalia and La Isabella are two of the oldest and most well-known coffee estates in the region. Both estates have a long history that goes back to 1888 when Mr. Teodosio Castro Angarita made his first purchase.
La Rosalia was named after Mr. Castro’s wife, a woman he loved deeply. This beautiful estate even won first place at the first internet coffee auction in Costa Rica in 2003.
Today, Mr. Claudio Castro and his son-in-law, Mr. Francisco Gonzalez, manage both estates. Together, they make sure La Isabella and La Rosalia Estates keep growing healthy coffee plants. Both estates stand as a sign of the Castro family's love for coffee, their history, and their commitment to taking care of the environment and producing high-quality coffee.
