Brazil Campanha

Grade 17/18

This Brazil Campanha Selection is a natural processed green coffee from South Minas Gerais, sourced through Coopama, a cooperative built by farming families to strengthen production and improve consistency over time. Grown across multiple farms at around 1,200 masl, this lot brings together traditional Brazilian varieties like Catuai and Mundo Novo, resulting in a well-structured cup shaped by shared practices and  brought together at the cooperative.

In the cup, this coffee leans toward chocolate and nut sweetness, with notes of cocoa, roasted nuts, and brown sugar. Adicity stays soft, while the body is smooth and round, giving it a steady, easy feel on the roaster. It’s a profile that remains consistent, and simple.

Available in 30kg bags and packed in GrainPro for optimal preservation, this coffee is ideal for roasters seeking a reliable and easy-to-work profile. It works especially well for espresso and blends where balance, sweetness, and consistency matter. Built on a cooperative model, it offers a steady supply and reliable performance over time.

Direct trade green coffee imported by JA coffee through long-term relationships at origin, for specialty coffee roasters.

What is so special about this coffee?

What makes this Campanha Selection stand out is how it comes together.. Through Coopama, producers work within a shared system that supports organization, aligns practices, and improves consistent post-harvest handling, allowing coffees from different farms to come together into a stable and repeatable profile.

At the same time, the combination of natural processing and regional conditions increases body and sweetness, resulting in a coffee with a well-balanced profile with low acidity, and consistent behavior during roasting.   It’s a coffee that behaves predictably across roast curves, making it a reliable choice for day-to-day use, backed by a cooperative model focused on long-term consistency.

Coopama: Coffee Built Through Cooperation in Southern Minas Gerais

Coopama is a coffee cooperative rooted in southern Minas Gerais, Brazil, built by around 3,600 farming families for whom coffee is part of everyday life. While the cooperative supports different agricultural activities, coffee remains at its core. For its members, coffee is not a seasonal crop, but a long-term commitment passed down through generations, shaped by shared knowledge, patience, and care for the land.

Over time, Coopama has grown alongside its producers, focusing on improving quality through practical support and experience in the field. With guidance on harvesting, post-harvest practices, and careful handling of each lot, farmers gain a clearer understanding of how their decisions in the field translate into the cup. This approach supports more stable cup profiles and reliable quality from harvest to harvest, with coffees that clearly reflect their origin and the people who produce them.

The Origin Behind Coopama Coffees

Coopama coffees come from a landscape shaped by elevation, steady seasons, and long harvest cycles that allow coffee to mature at its own pace. These conditions help producers focus on careful picking and balanced development, resulting in coffees that tend to show clean, straightforward cup profiles year after year.

Behind this work is a shared structure that helps farmers take care of their coffee once it leaves the farm. Coopama brings options for timing sales and protected transport to the warehouse, producers have more confidence in how their coffee is handled, and buyers receive coffees that are well prepared, clearly identified, and show consistent performance from lot to lot.
