Fazenda Bioma Café

Brazil

Bioma Café specialty coffee from Brazil’s Cerrado Mineiro. Long-term farm project with full traceability, disciplined production, and consistently well-balanced cups.

About Bioma Café,

Bioma Café is the result of a shared vision between Marcelo Assis and Flávio Márcio Ferreira, who first joined forces in the early 2000s. Coming from strong agricultural and technical backgrounds, they set out to build a coffee project focused on quality, long-term thinking, and doing things properly from the ground up. Their collaboration laid the foundation for a professional operation centered on producing specialty coffee in Brazil at a time when the country was still largely associated with volume rather than differentiation.

Founded in 2010, Bioma Café came to life after nearly a decade of research dedicated to identifying the right terroir for high-quality Arabica coffee. That search led them to Campos Altos, in the Cerrado Mineiro region, where they established the farm on a plateau at around 1,200 meters above sea level. Spanning 229 hectares, the site offered the conditions they were looking for: consistency, clarity of origin, and the potential to push quality through careful agronomy, varietal selection, and processing. From the outset, the goal was clear—produce traceable, specialty-grade coffees with repeatable results.

Today, Bioma Café is recognized as one of the most awarded farms in the Cup of Excellence Brazil. The team is part of a new generation of Brazilian producers focused on experimentation, processing precision, and terroir-driven outcomes, while maintaining a strong commitment to environmental responsibility and continuous improvement. Their work has helped reshape expectations of what Brazilian specialty coffee can be, with a focus on quality that starts in the field and carries through every step of production.

What Makes Bioma Café So Special?

Bioma Café is rooted in the Cerrado Mineiro Denomination of Origin (D.O.), Brazil’s first official coffee D.O. This designation guarantees traceability, defined production standards, and regional integrity. The farm is located at an average altitude of 1,200 meters and benefits from the well-defined seasons of the Cerrado, which enable uniform flowering and controlled maturation. This results in balance, clarity, and a consistent regional profile in the cup.

At Bioma Café, consistency and responsibility guide every stage of production. The team uses data-driven agronomy and soil health management and increases the use of organic materials to protect the ecosystem while steadily improving quality. This disciplined approach reflects a modern Brazilian specialty coffee project that is technically precise, origin-focused, and built for long-term performance.
